Description

This workshop raises awareness about the specific issues associated with workplace conflict and presents tools for proactively dealing with inappropriate behaviour and roadblocks to collaboration. Your organization’s harassment prevention policy may also be reviewed in order to identify the role and responsibility of each party concerned, as well as the complaint handling mechanisms set out therein. Moreover, hands-on activities will enable attendees to explore the workshop themes and promote constructive discussions about good prevention practices. As issues associated with workplace psychological harassment pertain to both the fields of law and workplace psychology, we favour addressing them using an interdisciplinary training approach.

Objectives

1. Gain an understanding of the following concepts: psychological and sexual harassment, abuse of power and work environment risk/protective factors
2. Be able to clearly differentiate the concepts of harassment, incivility and conflict from one another
3. Gain an understanding of the scope of the employer’s preventive and defensive obligations in effect within the organization
4. Gain an understanding of the complaint handling policy and procedure in effect
5. Identify the key skills the person in charge must possess to enable the employer to meet its obligations
6. Learn how to apply the best practices in prevention
